Sussex Canada Day

It’s Canada Day on Saturday, and Sussex is set to celebrate the country’s 150th birthday.

Mayor Marc Thorne says the town will cover the cost for a family day at Princess Louise Park.

Events featured will be a petting zoo and pony rides, bouncers; games, and a rock climbing wall; face painting, laser tag; and musical entertaiment.

New store from a Sussex family

On Canada Day, a new shop will open in St. Martins.

Lori Gale’s Sea Side Shop will be run by the Gale family of Sussex, in memory of their daughter and sister.

Five percent of the profits will go to local cancer patients.

Local items like jewelry, art; pottery, soaps and other artisan crafts will be on sale.
