NB Power taking proposals for new renewable-energy program

NB Power is inviting municipalities, co-ops and non-profits to participate in a new program to integrate small-scale renewable energy projects onto the provincial power grid.   It allows for the production of 40 megawatts from hydro, biomass, wind, solar and the like.  Up to 20 megawatts can be owned by one or more local entity, or 40 by two or more if they’re on the same site.  Proposals can be submitted until April 28th.

Saint John needs diversified economy to grow population: economics expert

An economics expert says diversifying the economy is how Saint John will grow its population. We were the only census metropolitan area in Canada that lost people from 2011 to 2016. UNB prof and former Stats Can employee Paul Peters told the Telegraph-Journal a decline in manufacturing and industrial work has taken people out of town, and that’s our bread and butter. Moncton has now passed Saint John as New Brunswick largest city proper.
