Heavy snow is being blamed for a roof collapse at a business outside Fredericton on Saturday. No one was injured when the roof at Signature Sounds in Hanwell caved in yesterday morning. The Upper Kingsclear Fire Department responded to collapse and tell the CBC that staff were setting up equipment inside the building when they heard the roof crack before it collapsed in an area where no one was working. With more snow in the forecast fire officials are advising home and business owners to be aware of snow and ice buildup on roof tops.

Unemployment Rates Drop in Maritime Provinces
Unemployment rates in each Maritime province dropped last month. PEI’s unemployment rate dropped from 10.5 percent in December to 9.8 percent in January. Despite losing 3-thousand net jobs, fewer people looking for work helped drop New Brunswick unemployment rate drop to 8.9 percent. Stats Can says jobs added in Nova Scotia dropping the unemployment rate to 7.7 per cent down from 8.3 per cent in December.
