Life and death in the blizzard of ’17.

A man’s body was found outside a west side strip mall yesterday. Police say 46 year old Glen Hutchinson was reported missing Monday night when he went to a store on Lancaster Avenue. Then his body was found yesterday morning by snowplow operators.

An autopsy is being done to determine the exact cause of death and whether it’s rel;eated to the storm…but it is not considered suspicious.

The C-section had been scheduled for yesterday, but at 3:00 in the morning Charles Charest decided he wasn’t going to wait and began kicking his way out.

His mom, Sonia Charest, a french immersion teacher in Sussex Corner, was stranded in her home in Ward’s Creek because of the snow blocking the roads. Plows wouldn’t get the ambulance there fast enough, so it was up to dad, Lance Chown, to deliver him on his own. He called it terrifying but everything went well…and mom and son are doing well at Saint John Regional Hospital.
