Islamaphobia debated in the Commons

The Liberal government is firmly behind a private members bill in the Commons which calls for the recognition of the need to condemn Islamaphobia and quell the increasing public climate of hate and fear.

Mississauga M-P Iqra Khalid’s non-binding motion to condemn Islamophobia and all other forms of racism and religious discrimination was debated in the Commons last night.

The Conservatives want the reference to Islamophobia dropped…but Khlaid says it’s important to describe mounting levels of racism and hate crimes against Muslims for what it is.

More hacking problems at Yahoo

Yahoo has issued another warning about potentially malicious activity on some clients accounts last year and in 2015.

These are just the latest developments in the Internet company’s investigation of a mega-breach that exposed users’ data from a billion accounts several years ago. Yahoo is notifying its users now that their accounts were potentially compromised but didn’t say how many.
