Watermains breaking in the cold

A Saint John neighborhood spent much of Saturday without water after a significant water main break.

Saint John Water said the break occurred at the intersection of Hickey Road and Heather Way. A number of nearby streets and residences were affected. Repairs wrapped up and residents in the area were advised to run their taps to flush out the pipes before resuming consumption.
Meanwhile the boil order was finally lifted for another East Side neighbourhood after a water main break last Wednesday. It was lifted Saturday night and residents were told to turn their taps on for a few minutes to help flush out the pipes.

Joshua Group opens thrift store

The newest thrift store in Saint John is geared towards kids.

The Joshua Group, which provides a safe place for kids to go after school and provides shelter for at risk youth, is now going to be providing clothing and furniture as well.

Lynn Raymond, a volunteer with the Joshua Group, told the Telegraph-Journal the volunteers have been working for weeks setting up the shelves as so on so they can sell items donated to the group, such as clothing and furnitue Then they will use the funds to help feed, clothe and transport children.
