Ottawa dealing with American refugees

The Trudeau Government is concerned this winter’s relative trickle of refugees from the U-S crossing the border to seek asuylum will turn into a flood in the spring.

Ottawa will be holding in-depth discussions this week on how to handle the practical and political fallout from the rising numbers of refugees seeking to escape Donald Trump’s America.  Cabinet will consider giving the Immigration Department more resources.

Conservatives want the government to crack down on the refugees. About 200 have braved a prairie winter to cross from Minnesota and North Dakota into Manitoba since the beginning of the year.
