Apartment building fire

Over a dozen people were evacuated from two small uptown apartment buildings early this morning.

The blaze broke out around 11:30 in the buildings on Duke Street forcing at least 15 people and their pets out into the cold. The Red Cross was there to help. The two storey brick buildings are pretty well a write off. Nobody was injured, although fire fighters gave oxygen to a couple of the cats.

No word yet on the cause.
