There’s no word yet on the cause of that fire that destroyed an apartment building on Duke Street early yesterday morning.
Nobody was hurt but over a dozen people, and their pets, were left homeless.
Because of the damage, they were going to tear the building down yesterday but last night’s storm delayed that until today.
Agriculture Minister Rick Doucet is looking to grow the province’s maple syrup industry.
Doucet says the industry is already expanding and the government wants to help it grow even more, saying it’s a vital part of the government’s growth strategy. The government recently allotted another 4,400 hectares for sugar production. The industry employs about 2,300 workers.
