The Gallant Government is cutting the small business income tax rate starting April 1st…Saturday. It’s the third drop since January 2015, bringing it down to 3%.
Premier Gallant says it’s an effort to help small businesses compete, invest and create jobs, calling small businesses crucial to economic growth in the province.
NB Power will be getting a rate hike scheduled for April 1…but not as much as it wanted.
The Energy and Utilities Board has granted NB Power a rate increase of 1.8% after it requested 2%. The Board cited a mathematical error in its application last month on $3.2 million in industrial subsidies and told the utility to go back and recalculate.
