U-N debates Syrian chemical attack

The U-N held an emergency debate on a chemical weapons attack on Syrian civilians in an opposition held town that left several dozen people dead.

The U-S ambassador to the U-N, Nikki Haley, warned that the Trump administration will act if the U-N Security Council doesn’t and urged it to adopt a resolution condemning the attack as well as imposing consequences for the action.

The Russians say the resolution gets ahead of any actions because it assumes the Syrian Government is to blame.

Canadian wanna-be terrorist in court in Toronto

A man accused of travelling to Turkey two a half years ago to join the militant Islamic State group is due in a Toronto court today.

Pamir Hakimzadah was detained by Turkish authorities and returned to Toronto on charges of leaving Canada in the fall of 2014 to participate in the activities of a terrorist organization.
