A man has been given eight years, seven months in jail for abusing a woman and abducting her to prevent testimony. John Philip “BJ” Trecartin was to be tried in February 2016, and abducted and threatened the woman right before on the east side. The abuse charges came from 2014 and 2015.

Skateboarder hurt after colliding with vehicle
A skateboarder was hurt after being hit by a vehicle yesterday evening. The incident happened at Crown and Duke streets around 7:15 when the skater was in traffic. The teenager went to hospital with a fractured pelvis.
