No pardon for past pot convictions

With legalization of marijuanna likely happening by next summer, Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale is ruling out a general amnesty for past pot convictions.

The Trudeau government is not considering a blanket pardon for people who ended up with criminal records for simple possession of small amounts of grass.  It says the move to legalization doesn’t mean lax law enforcement during the transition.

President Donald Trump was ramping up the rhetoric telling North Morea’s leader to behave.

North Korea’s deputy U-N ambassador said the Trump administration was turning the Korean peninsula into the world’s biggest hotspot, bringing the region to the brink of war.

Vice-President Mike Pence sternly cautioned Pyongyang not to test America’s resolve or military power.
