A young man accused of stealing a school bus and smashing into two police cruisers is not fit to stand trial.
The Telegraph-Journal reports Matthew Duke was due to go to a preliminary inquiry next week after doctors initially found him fit to stand trial but not criminally responsible. Now the doctors say he isn’t fit for trial. So he’s been ordered back to court for a fitness hearing April 25th.
Advanced-care paramedics are now on the job in Moncton, Saint John and Bathurst as part of a pilot project.
The 16 paramedics offer an enhanced level of care to patients, including administering different drugs including narcotics.
This was the only prtovince without some form of advanced-care paramedic. Ambulance NB currently has 53 paramedics who have the neccessary training…but the pilot project is starting with only 16.
