Oilsands pollution much worse than thought

Federal scientists have found a new way to measure oilsands pollution. They say it shows industry estimates of harmful emissions are way off.

A series of tests performed from a plane over the oilsands showed pollutants were four and a half times higher than the companies were reporting. One of the researchers Stewart Cober says this technique could be applied to other oil and gas operations as well.

Trudeau on marijuanna

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was talking about the legalization of marijuanna yesterday and how minorities and poorer people don’t have the option of clearing their names in the justice system.

He used his late brother Michel as an example. He was arrested in 1998 for possession but his father hired a good lawyer to help him avoid a criminal record. Trudeau says legalizing grass would help alleviate that disparity.
