RCMP crack down on distracted driving

RCMP in St. Stephen have been cracking down on cellphone use while driving. They issued 32 tickets last month alone for distracted driving.

They started an enforcement campaign April 1st after officers on patrolled noticed a lot of people chatting away while driving. They handed out most of the tickets early in the month. Then they noticed the use of hand held cellphones while driving decreased. The fine is $172.50 and three points on your license.

Lyme disease season

This is Lyme Disease Awareness Month and the province is reminding you to be cautious.  It’s spread by the bites of infected blacklegged ticks.  They’re all over New Brunswick, but populations are highest from here to the border.
