The RCMP was warned three years before the tragic shootings in Moncton that the force could be held accountable for any deaths.

Researcher Dr. Kate Kaminska told the Labour Code trial that she told the national force it was at a high risk of being held accountable under the Canada Labour Code for injuries or deaths of inadequately trained and equipped front-line officers. She said the force’s reaction was to commission another study.

The Gallant Government will be putting $56 million more into education and early childhood initiatives. That would bring the budget for the department up to $1.2 billion.

There’d be 250 more teachers, money going towards pay equity, improved literacy and enhanced autism programs.
