Rink strategy

Common Council is hoping a regional approach will help with replacing four aging rinks around the city, according to the Telegraph-Journal.

Councillors have endorsed a regional recreation strategy by the Fundy Regional Services Commission.  It would see more co-operation among municipalities and possible cost-sharing. Deputy commissioner of parks and public spaces, Tim O’Reilly pointed out more than a third of the users of the city’s arenas come from outside the city.

High tides

Coastal residents are being told to be ready for the highest tides of the year around noon today….might cause some flooding problems, especially with rain in the forecast.

The Bay of Fundy will see its highest tides in conjunction with the supermoon which is at its closed point to earth in decades…also the lowest tides of the year.
