Archway Insurance is buying Alliance Assurance effective New Year’s Eve. Alliance has nine locations across New Brunswick, and this agreement will bring the total number of Archway locations to 20 in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The company is based in Amherst.

Dennis Oland trial update
It could be 2018 before Dennis Oland goes to trial again on a second degree murder charge in his father’s death.
A court hearing yesterday in Saint John was adjourned for a month before a trial date will be set. The judge wants to wait to see if the Crown will try to take the case to the Supreme Court of Canada after the provincial Court of Appeal overturned Oland’s murder conviction in October.
