A candlelight memorial was held in Fredericton to commemorate today’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. Today is the 27th anniversary of the Montreal massacre, where 14 women were killed at École Polytechnique by a man who said he was “fighting feminism”.

RCMP dog Hamer moving on to NB; NS RCMP celebrating him this week
Hamer the one-year-old RCMP puppy has finished the first component of his training, and is into the next phase in New Brunswick. Hamer is working with an RCMP dog handler who may become his permanent partner.
