In the Q-League…The Sea Dogs beat Blainville-Boisbriand 4-1 at Harbour Station.
In the NHL…the Leafs lost 3-1 to Colorado. The Oilers downed the Jets 3-2. Ottawa lost 5-1 to the Ducks. Canucks were shut down 3-0 by the Capitals.
In the NFL’s Sunday night game…the Giants broke the Cowboys 11 game winning streak with a 10-7 win.
A major fire on Saturday forced firefighters to close down parts City Road in Saint John. The fire broke out at the the former City Laundromat building shortly before noon and as flames could be seen shooting from the building’s top windows. The building has been abandoned and used for storage since the laundromat closed in 2011. The new owners were currently renovating the building which appears to have been completely destroyed in the blaze. There’s no word yet on what caused the fire.
