NB Senator resigning early on principle

Senator John Wallace has announced he will be resigning from the Senate at the end of next month….long before he has to.,

Wallace, who represents New Brunswick as an independant, was appointed in 2009. He told the Telegraph-Journal he believes eight years in the Senate should be the limit to how long any member should serve. He isn’t due to reach the mandatory retirement age until March 2024.

Flags at legislature

The province has revised its flag guidelines. Families and Children Minister Stephen Horsman says national flags will be allowed on the poles at the legislature on that country’s national holiday.

Horsman says it’s recognition of the many cultures that make up New Brunswick diverse population.
