The province is kicking off wildlife rabies prevention efforts this month with hand distribution of vaccine bait.
The government says the bait will be placed in areas frequented by raccoons and skunks starting next week in Fredericton and St. Mary’s First Nation. Then Saint John and other communities will follow later this month. They’ll drop the vaccine baits by air next month. Over 400,000 baits were distributed by air and hand last year.
