New radio system for first responders

The province has launched a new mobile radio communication system for first responders and other users.

Municipal police forces, volunteer fire departments, paramedics, school bus drivers and snow plow operators will be among users of the New Brunswick Trunked Mobile Radio system.  The government partnered with Bell Mobility for the system.

Teachers dispute

NSTU President Liette Doucet said the union has now applied to Labour Minister Kelly Regan for a mediator to try to avoid a strike December 3rd.

Earlier Premier Stephen McNeil announced his government was launching an advertising campaign extolling its position in the dispute. McNeil says there’ll be government-funded and Liberal party-funded ads.
