PM opening Veterans office in Sydney

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is in Sydney today with Veteran’s Affairs Minister Kent Hehr to reopen the Veterans Affairs office, closed by the former Harper Government.

Trudeau will also meet with veterans at a local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. It was the local veterans who kicked up a stink about the closure of the office and others across the country resulting in the reversal by the Trudeau Government.

Not guilty verdict in Python trial

Jean-Claude Savoie has been found not guilty of criminal negligence causing death.  The jury deliberated for about eight hours before acquitting the 40-year-old, who was charged in the 2013 deaths of Campbellton brothers Connor and Noah Barthe.  Lawyer Les Matchim is unhappy with how the RCMP handled it, saying they put in writing that Savoie wouldn’t be charged early in the investigation.
