Nova Scotians can recognize outstanding community volunteers by nominating them for a 2017 Provincial Volunteer Award. Categories are representative, youth and family; with the premier, lieutenant-governor and minister of the voluntary sector presenting the awards at an April ceremony. The deadline for nominations is February 24th.

A Dalhousie University survey finds almost a quarter of Canadians are worried about how to pay for groceries. More than half say fluctuating prices over the last year have them looking at deals, stocking up during sales and looking for alternatives.
