The tidal bore on the Petitcodiac is especially impressive this week.
The supermoon is causing the highest tides of the year in the Bay of Fundy. The Times and Trnscript reports a lot of people headed down to the river to take in the phenomenon…and were treated to two surfers riding the wave…despite it being the middle of November.
A Charlotte County man has been found guilty of matricide.
The Telegraph-Journal reports 36 year old Mathew Linus Tucker shot his mother, Dorothy, in the face with a shotgun in her Oak Bay home in November 2014. His lawyer says Tucker was suffering from a diminished or impaired mental state but the jury rejected that argument and found him guilty of second degree murder.
Tucker faces an automatic life sentence and a sentencing hearing will be held December 13th to determine how long he must serve before being eligible for parole.
