The province has hired a Toronto firm to produce a master plan to redevelop the Queen Elizabeth Hospital complex.
Health Minister Leo Glavine says Kasian Architecture has been awarded a $1.9 million contract to come up with a detailed plan to replace the old Victoria General building and expand the Halifax Infirmary by late next year.
Premier Stephen McNeil has pledged that the entire project would be completed on budget and on time.
The Education Department is now warning parents of school-age children to prepare for a possible teachers strike. The government says there could be job action of some kind anytime after December 3rd…which is a Satyuday. The first school day affected would be December 5th.
The NSTU has to give 48 hours notice of any work action whether it’s a full strike or something such as no longer taking part in extra-curricular activities.
