Tens of thousands of dead herring keep washing ashore across the Bay of Fundy along the shores of St. Mary’s Bay in Nova Scotia…and now they’re turning up elsewhere.
The first sightings were two weeks ago on beaches on St. Marys Bay. Now dead fish are turning up in the Annapolis Basin.
Biology professor Shawn Craik says the fish could be dying of a virus, pollution, parasites or a poisonous algae bloom…they’re waiting on lab tests.
An elderly man died at a nursing home in Beaverbank in October…and RCMP are now investigating.
CBC reports the wife of 79 year old Gordon Birchell complained her husband was pushed by another resident with severe dementia. Birchell was taken to the Cobequid Medical Centre for treatment and then was sent back to the Ivy Meadows home where he died.
The wife says Birchell was repeatedly pushed by this resident, including once when she was present.
