New Brunswick’s unemployment rate went down in November. We’re now at 8.7% instead of 10% in October, but Stats Can says 4700 people left the workforce. The province added 500 jobs, all full-time. By region, Campbellton-Miramichi was at 14% unemployment, Moncton-Richibucto 7.9%, Saint John-St. Stephen 6.7%, Fredericton-Oromocto 5.7% and Edmunston-Woodstock 5%.

Risk Assessment Order for Canso Causeway
The province says it will do a risk assessment on the Canso Causeway and create an emergency response plan, according to CBC. Auditor General Michael Pickup in his annual report this week criticized the government for not having one already, given it’s the only road link between the island and mainland.
