Provincial funding for northern ski hill

Skiers can expect fresh powder earlier in the season on a northern ski hill thanks to $2.2 million dollars in provincial funding.

The government is paying for new snow-making equipment for the ski hill at Sugarloaf Provincial Park in Campbellton. Officials are hoping the guarantee of snow early in the season will boost tourism in the area.

Man arrested in south end stabbing

Two people are recovering from stab wounds and another is facing charges.

Police say a man broke into an apartment on South Park Street early yesterday morning and attacked the man and woman inside. Both were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening cuts.

Police arrested a 19 year old man and will take him to court today on numerous charges. They say the attack was apparently unprovoked…that suspect and victims don’t know each other.
