Bail denied for man charged in shooting

The Moncton man charged in the shooting downtown just before Christmas has been denied bail.

30 year old Christopher Eric Dickie is charged with aggravated assault and breaching probation after the incident December 20th on Cameron Street. The judge denied bail in court yesterday after a hearing. Evidence presented during that hearing is banned from publication.

So Dickie remains in custody with his next court appearance January 18.

Testimony ends at impaired driving trial of former Mounty

Testimony is done at the trial of a former Mounty on impaired driving charges after the defence wrapped up its case, according to the Times and Transcript. 49 year old Ronald Cleveland will be back in court on the 24th when the lawyers will deliver their closing arguments.

Cleveland, who was a sargent with Codiac RCMP, was arrested after a man was spotted struggling to drive away from a gas station in Riverview in March of 2014.
