Teachers talks

Contract talks between the province and teachers union are set to resume today under a media blackout. Saturday the talks were off. Now they’re back on again.

The two sides were taking shots at each other last week over some teachers going to professional development sessions in Hawaii during theĀ  work-to-rule campaign. The union said teachers were granted travel permission, including for those who attended an education conference last week in Hawaii before the work to rule began.

Serious injuries on Lawrencetown Road

A 37 year old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after rolling his vehicle on Lawrencetown Road early yesterday. RCMP were called to scene around 1:30 in the morning and the car had to be pulled apart to get the man out. He was the sole occupant.
