A pedestrian was killed by a vehicle last night in Hatfield Point. The 54-year-old man was hit around 6:30 while walking along Route 124. Sussex RCMP are investigating the cause.

Local Harvest House coordinator passes away
The coordinator of Harvest House in Glace Bay and North Sydney has died. CBC reports Melvin Sangster passed away Friday in his sleep, as confirmed by his family. He had run the charity with wife Hazel since it started here in 2001.
