Glace Bay miner’s museum

The three levels of government have come up with over $1.5 million to save the Miners Museum in Glace Bay.

Premier Stephen McNeil at the funding announcement said the museum honours the hard work and history of the province’s coal miners.

The museum has been suffering in recent years because of a lot of leaks.

This money will go towards a new roof, doors; windows, brick walls; along with ventilation system and energy upgrades.

There will also be a planning study for interactive and interior spaces, including enhanced electronic displays.

Electoral survey

Most Canadians are happy with the current voting system in Canada.

A report by the government’s electoral reform survey also says however, we are willing to accept change.

Over half in the survey also said they are opposed to mandatory voting.

A majority are also in favour of online voting as long as the system is demonstrably secure.
