Westmount stabbing

A Westmount man remains in custody until at least tomorrow after a stabbing on the weekend.

21 year old Clayton David Baker, of Rosary Drive, is charged with aggravated assault and other charges in connection with the incident Sunday.  He was in court briefly yesterday and remanded until a bail hearing tomorrow.

NS Acadian decision

Nova Scotia’s French-speaking population has won a major court battle over the makeup of electoral districts.

The government will be appointing an independent commission to redraw boundaries to provide the Acadian minority with better representation in the legislature.

The previous NDP government redrew three predominantly Acadian ridings to include more English speakers.
