J.D. Irving faces two counts of violating the Occupational Health and Safety Act after a man’s death at the Sussex sawmill. William Gregg suffered a head injury in the chipper building last February 29th, passing away in hospital. The charges come after a WorkSafeNB investigation, and the case returns to court May 15th.

Province and Crown prosecutors reach tentative deal
The province and Crown prosecutors have reached a tentative collective agreement. Represented by the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada, the group includes 63 prosecutors and family counsel. Details are being kept under wraps pending ratification.
