NewLeaf Drops Moncton Flights

Officials at the Moncton airport do not believe that NewLeaf Airlines will stop flying into the city, even though Moncton is nowhere on the low-fare airline’s summer schedule. The Winnipeg-based airline says that as of May 1st, it will schedule more frequent flights between Abbotsford, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Hamilton and Halifax, while dropping both Moncton and Kelowna. Airline officials say that was a business decision, with various factors in favour of it.

NS Immigration Numbers Highest in Decades

Nova Scotia welcomed more immigrants to the province in 2016 than it has in decades. The Immigration Department says more than 48-hundred immigrants, including 15-hundred refugees, arrived in Nova Scotia in the first 10 months of 2016. That’s the highest number of newcomers to the province since years following the second world war.
