A teen was taken to hospital after she was hit by a pickup Tuesday evening.
The 15 year old had just stepped into the street on Pine Glen Road from a driveway when she was hit. The injuries were described as not life-threatening.
RCMP say there were large snow banks on either side and the girl was wearing headphones. The investigation continues. No word on whether charges will be laid.
The city is warning people about the dangers of some practises with all this snow…especially when it comes to the kids.
They point out snow tunnels and forts may be fun but they are dangerous, especially with snow clearing operations and plows moving through quickly. It says street and sidewalk plow operators take every precaution…but forts and tunnels can collapse easily when they pass causing serious injury or death.
The city is also warning people not to push snow out into the streets…even though you’re running out of space to put it all. You could be fined.
