North Sydney SIRT

SIRT has been called in to investigate an accident Tuesday night in North Sydney.

A Cape Breton Regional Police officer tried to stop a speeding erratically driven vehicle.  He spotted the car heading in the opposite direction on King Street and turned his lights on but lost sight of the car.  About 10 minutes later it was found overturned on Johnson Road with three occupants standing beside it.  One of them was suffering serious injuries to his hand.  That’s why the Serious Inc9ident Response Team was called in.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call 902-424-2010, or toll free 1-855-450-2010.

Bridgewater Transit Goals

Bridgewater wants its own public transit system, and has hired a consulting firm; that recommends a 20-passenger bus running a single, 45-minute loop.

The province recently gave the town $15,000 to hire CBCL Limited.

Initial capital costs would be $188,000 with an annual operating cost of $160,000.

Bridgewater’s goal is to have a fall pilot project, as 70 per cent of people say they would use the service.
