Police are investigating two armed robberies last night.

The first was around 9:00pm at the Smoke Shop at 2651 Windsor Street where a 30-40 year old man got some cash and fled. Nobody hurt.

The second was just before midnight at Jenny’s Place on Lady Hammond Road. An employee opened a door thinking it was someone they knew…but then two men rushed in. One pointed a gun and the other went into the office. The employee then struggled with the man with the gun and was able to disarm him…but both suspects fled. The employee wasn’t hurt.

Police are investigating after teenage girls were approached yesterday afternoon by two men in a white pickup in the west end.

The three girls were walking on Chebucto Road near Harvard Street when the truck pulled up and one of the men told them to get in the truck. They quickly walked away across the Oxford School property but the pickup followed them for awhile before leaving.

Police say it was a white Chevy pickup with silver trim and a black tool box across the bed. The driver was a heavy set man in his 50s with a beanie of ball cap and dark coat. The passenger was a man in his 30s with average build, dark hair and full beard.

Police are investigating whether there’s a connection to a similiar incident February 22nd on Greenpark Close.
