Woman Seriously Injured after being Struck in Sydney Mines

A pedestrian was airlifted to Halifax yesterday after being struck by a vehicle in Sydney Mines. Cape Breton Regional Police say they were called to Oxford Avenue in Sydney Mines around 7am on Friday morning. A 28-year-old woman suffered serious injuries. She was taken to Cape Breton Regional Hospital and later airlifted to Halifax. Police are still investigating the incident.

Funding Announced for Events in West Nova

Federal funding has been announced for festivals and events in West Nova. More than $104,000 is going to 10 organizations, including Festival Acadien de Clare, Association Le Moulin and the Seafest Association. The money is in honour of Canada 150.
