Phil Richer, who coached the Miramichi Rivermen major midget team last season, has been named the new head coach and general manager of the St. Stephen Aces in the MHL.

The 26-year-old Quebec native was tapped as associate coach and assistant general manager of the team earlier this summer.

Richer played two seasons with the Miramichi Timberwolves.

This Saturday, Miramichi Meat in Nordin; will celebrate 65 years in business.

Miramichi Meat will have an anniversary party on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the store.

There will be a barbecue from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., along with an anniversary cake; and prizes and specials on all day.
