New school

The local District Education Council has approved the initial specifications for a new school in the north end of Moncton, according to the Times and Transcript. Where it will go wasn’t revealed…that’ll be up to provincial politicians.

The new middle school will house about 700 students. Grades six to to eight students from Northrop Frye and Evergreen Park school will be moved there while those schools will become strictly elementaries.

Highway 11 fatality

R-C-M-P are investigating a head-on collision up north that claimed the life of a 28 year old Miramichi man.

He was alone in his vehicle which collided head-on with another on Highway 11 near Belledune. A man and woman in the other car were injured…but it’s not believed to be life-threatening.

The initial investigation shows road conditions were likely a factor.
