Icy storm coming

New Brunswickers are being cautioned about a storm system expected to hit the province tomorrow.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the province saying a low pressure system is expected to hit tomorrow morning with ice pellets and freezing rain for an extended period from the morning to afternoon before changing to rain. There’ll be strong southeasterly winds as well.

Anti-Trump rallies in NB

Thousands of Maritimers took to public squares and social media to show their solidarity with their American neighbours the day after Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Offshoots of the Women’s March on Washington were held in Saint John, Moncton, Fredericton and Halifax Saturday. Protesters in St. John’s held a virtual rally after being snowed in by a blizzard. There were dozens of other such marches across the country.
