Immigration rule changes being considered by minister

Immigration minister Ahmed Hussen says he’ll consider amendments to allow an appeal process in immigration cases where people with dual citizenships are stripped of their Canadian citizenship.

Hussen says he believes the legislation passed by the former Conservative government is sound, even though there’s no guarantee of an appeal for someone losing their citizenship.

PM thinks the Liberals have a shot in Calgary

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is confident the Liberals can flip a couple of traditional Tory ridings in Calgary in upcoming byelections next month.

They were left vacant by the resignations of Stephen Harper and former cabinet minister Jason Kenney. Campaigning in Calgary yesterday, Trudeau pointed out his government is getting oil pipelines built to ports after a decade of the Tories failing to do that.
