A car-pedestrian accident in Bathurst has left a 67 year old woman dead.
She was crossing St. Peter Avenue Monday night when she was hit. Police say she was not in a crosswalk when she was hit by the car driven by a 20 year old man. No name has been released…and the investigation continues.
RCMP and Canada Border Services Agency both say they do have the resources now to deal with the number of refugees from the U-S seeking asylum. But they are also considering what will happen if hundreds of asylum seekers now turns into thousands trying to cross the border when the warmer weather arrives.
Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale expects the Mounties and C-B-S-A will let his department know what they need.
