The Canso area could soon be home to Canada’s first commercial spaceport.
Maritime Launch Services says it assessed 14 potential locations across North America and settled on a site near Canso to launch the Ukrainian-built rockets which will carry commercial payloads like satellitess. M-L-S is optimistic it can break ground within a year and launch by 2020…doing 8 of them a year.
Municipal officials welcomed the news and said having a spaceport there will boost tourism as well.
