A Moncton area man will go to trial on charges of threatening Premier Brian Gallant, according to the Times and Transcript.
35 year old Daniel P. LeBlanc, of Second North River, was in court yesterday and entered a not guilty plea. Leblanc will represent himself and the judge said a lawyer will be appointed to counsel him.
The accussed underwent a psychiatric assessment where he was found fit to stand trial but not criminally responsible because of a mental disorder. Leblanc disagreed with that funding insisting he is not crazy.
The prosecutor said criminal responsibility comes down to judges, not psychiatrists, and the judge needs to know the full picture.
