A 48 year old Sussex Corner woman was killed in a motorcycle crash Tuesday night.
Her motorcycle left Post Road and crashed into a tree. She died at the scene. The preliminary investigation suggests speed was likely a contributing factor and the investigation continues.
Family has identified the woman as 48 year old Tammy Danells Mersereau.
The Supreme Court is expected to rule today on whether the provincial Court of Appeal was wrong to deny bail to Dennis Oland while he was appealing his murder conviction.
Oland was subsequently granted bail by the same court last October after it overturned his murder conviction and ordered a new trial.
But his lawyers kept the appeal going on this particular point because it will clarify when bail should be granted to murderers who are appealing. There are different interpretations in different provinces.
